The Rescue : A Story of Dog Rescue

About this project

"The Rescue" is a story about Dunder the German Shepherd and the day his parents brought home Munster from the animal shelter - changing both of their lives forever. "The Rescue" shares the message of hope, appreciation, friendship, and animal rescue with the next generation of dog lovers. And what better way to do this than to use our dogs' story as an example. 

This book started out as an idea for our son's first birthday gift. After receiving several requests from our followers, we felt the need to share it and spread the importance of rescuing animals in need.

Here it is: 8"x10" full-color, 32-page, hardcover book printed in the U.S.  A great gift for birthdays, baby showers, or just to add to your collection.

Dunder is a happy young pup who loves exploring new parks and beaches, and especially posing for the camera to capture his fun adventures. In 2011, Dunder made headlines around the world when his Youtube video, "Time Lapse Puppy to Adult in 40 seconds," went viral.  This led to a huge following on Facebook and Instagram.

A year later, we stumbled upon a lonely and nervous little pup named Munster at the animal shelter. We instantly knew we had to bring this little guy home and make him a part of our family.

Since bringing Munster home, the two have been best friends.  And well, the years have been pretty much like this... 

We are Monique and Byron, a couple living in California's Bay Area. Monique spent endless hours reading as a child, and now shares her love for children's books with her 9-month old son. Byron is a classic 90's kid who has been illustrating since he could hold a crayon and now works as a designer. We are best known for our viral YouTube video, Time Lapse: Pregnant to Baby in 90 Seconds, which currently has over 11 Million views.

Our Family

We are self-publishing this book and need your help to make this happen. The story is ready to hit the printers, but first we need to reach our backing goal. Our campaign basically works as a pre-order for our book along with other awesome incentives.  

Our main goal is to get this story out and spread the importance of friendship and animal rescue. The best way to ensure that we get the book out is to keep costs as low as humanly possible by dedicating our own time. We wrote, illustrated and designed this project all on our own.

Our family had a great time making this book, but we don't want to stop here. We are already working on additional stories and will not stop as long as the demand is there. On top of that, we would love to donate books to communities in need.

50 books total will be donated if we reach $15,000.

100 books total will be donated if we reach $20,000.

300 books total will be donated if we reach $30,000.

Risks and challenges

The book is 100% complete, ready to be printed and will be in your hands around June 2016. Our carefully-selected printer in the U.S. is ready to print so that we can get the books to you in a timely manner.

All we need to do is reach our backing goal. So the more you pledge, Tweet it, Share it, Facebook it, Pin it, yell from the roof tops, email it, and Instagram it...the better the chances to get this book out into the world and into your hands.

Other risks might include unlikely delays in shipping, but we will keep you updated in the small chance that it should happen.

God Feet "Legacy" Leather Sandals

Each strap is handmade in the Christian village of Chitixl, Guatemala, allowing the artisans to generate sustainable income for their families and their community. We're passionate about building the next great American footwear company. With that, God Feet are assembled and manufactured by hand in Gilbert, Arizona using the highest quality genuine leathers from Napa Valley, memory foam sponge that molds to your individual foot and custom sanded arches. 

God Feet will be the most durable and comfortable sandals you own, while impacting lives on a global scale and walking with purpose In every step.

The people living in the Christian village of Chitixl, Guatemala do not have access to the nutrition, education and other luxuries many of us may take for granted. 

With the help of Phoenix based Food for The Hungry, God Feet's commitment to making sandals by hand, using old world shoe making techniques, has allowed us to offer Chitixl an opportunity to generate sustainable income for their families and community. Completelytransforming their lives for eternity.

God Feet has been making a huge impact around the world since it's inception in 2010. Several years ago Founder David Gillette went on a quest to learn how to make high quality, comfortable footwear made to last. David was mentored by The Bootmaker David Espinoza out of Phoenix for over two years, in an effort to learn the timeless art of footwear making.

Your straps will even be initialed by the artisan that hand made them. Providing you with a personalized touch that brings you that much closer to our Friends in Chitixl. 

Once the straps finish assembly, they make it to the God Feet headquarters in Gilbert, Arizona where each pair is carefully handcrafted. 

We've been encouraged to turn away from the low quality standards of Chinese manufacturing. From this point forward we will have the opportunity to oversee every component of the manufacturing and assembly process of your product. Ensuring a long, comfortable and durable wearing experience.

We utilize an environmentally friendly contact adhesive that bonds extremely well and is resistant to all the elements. Providing confidence that your God Feet won't break down like many sandals on the market.

We spent years looking for the highest quality leather available. We found the perfect product in Napa Valley, California. Our hides are hand picked and oil tanned, offering the perfect leather for God Feet footwear for years to come.

 God Feet are available in a variety of sizes.

 Each arch is custom sanded by hand, working with the memory foam sponge to conform to your individual foot and providing you the comfortable support you need.

The arch is perhaps the most important structural feature of our feet, which bear 200,000 to 300,000 lbs. of stress each mile we walk. Arches absorb the brunt of the pressure our bodies thrust upon our feet with each stride. Arch height may vary significantly from person to person. It may also change as a person ages, or as the result of various medical conditions. Properly supporting the arch can prevent a variety of musculoskeletal problems that can lead to inactivity and even disability. God Feet will give you the support you need!

Since 2010, the God Feet story has been featured on dozens of local and national media outlets. The team has travelled to some of the world's most impoverished nations. God Feet has also had the honor of helping local families fighting life threatening illnesses raise funds to offset medical bills. 

God Feet has also partnered with Kurt Warner's Make a Wish program for several years in a row.
